“The past two weeks with you have been fantastic. You are such a good teacher, helpful, patient and willing to share your knowledge. Thank you so much, I have learned a lot and look forward to learning more. Your choice of our homestay was perfect, such a glorious setting, I could have been in the English countryside, which I miss so much.” - Hazel (from the 2018 Albany Workshop and the Stay and Play Tour)

ALBANY PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
14th - 18th September 2019
5 INSPIRING DAYS TO EXPLORE & DEVELOP YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY
ALBANY - Western Australia
2019 will be the second year we have run the Albany Workshop. The 2018 workshop was full of amazing locations. We return to all of them, only this time we be there in the height of the wild flower season. We organise stunning locations to visit to create innovative and mesmerizing photographs. Each year we make new friends. Each year we all grow photographically. Len's workshops are an experience worth enjoying over, and over again.
Don’t forget to bring your macro lens for all of those wildflowers.
Each day we rise before dawn and visit one of the nearer locations to enjoy the sunrise over the coast. We photograph as the light changes from pre dawn twilight through the blue hour and into the golden hours before the sun warms us when it has fully risen. If you need a hand with your camera or composition, Len is at your side. If you want to work alone and enjoy the location without hindrance or rushing, we will give you the space to do so.
Afterwards, we retreat to the classroom where we will warm ourselves with morning tea. Soon, we are in the classroom, and Len is thoroughly responding to your list of questions about photography. Ensuring your personal learning requirements are met. Then Len will go through one of his motivational presentations on photographic technique or composition.
We will provide you with a hot and nourishing lunch when you will have time to rejuvenate and socialise with Len and your fellow colleagues.
After lunch, it is time for you to download your images, and start processing them. Yet again, Len can be at your side to help. You will slowly pick your best work and we will print it to critique and discuss. It is here when you learn so much about your work and the work of others. It is always such a delight to see what your fellow participants are producing.
Just before we break, we will serve afternoon tea to energise you for your evening shoot.
At that point, we will head out once again, with camera in hand. For the evening shoots, we travel further afield to visit the rock formations near Albany. We stay in one location until dark. Until every last possible photograph is milked from the amazing locations.
By the end of the workshop, you will have the opportunity to print a small exhibition of stunning images captured during the week.
NB: This workshop includes day workshops but not accommodation, so you are free to choose accommodation that meets your needs and budget.

“I wanted to write and thank you so very much for a truly wonderful week. We saw Cradle Mountain in all its weather systems and you made sure we were all able to capture its uniqueness. It is certainly a stunning part of the country and the world and I was so thrilled to finally make it there after years of wishing! You were such a fabulous tour leader and looked after us so so so well!!! I never saw you show any sign of anything other than care and concern. Thank you! It was a wonderful tour and a great group. We certainly experienced some fantastic wildlife and some stunning scenery. The weather was fabulous and to have had the chance to experience the frost and that special fog / mist rising was amazing! I just hope I have a few photos to do it justice. It was lovely to get to know you better and to have the opportunity to have so many great chats. Thank you for being so attentive and supportive and for your guidance and advice both when taking photos and when processing them. I learnt so much. I just need to write a lot of it down so that I don’t forget it! I have been able to upload all of my photos which is wonderful. I loved seeing you fly your way around Lightroom and absolutely adored your processed images! WOW!!!!! Just stunning! You must have been thrilled! Looking forward to seeing you next week. Again, thank you for such a brilliant experience! Kind regards,” — Fiona Huddleston
